Hey there, business bestie! Let’s talk about something that could completely change how you sell in your business: your customer journey.

Here’s something most people don’t realize: People don’t just wake up one day and decide to buy from you.

A new lead has to go through a process before they feel ready to invest. They need to:

1️⃣ Discover you
2️⃣ Learn to trust you
3️⃣ See the value of what you offer
4️⃣ Then, make the decision to buyIf any of those steps are missing, unclear, or rushed, people won’t buy—not because your offer isn’t good, but because they aren’t ready.

The 4 Stages of a High-Converting Customer Journey

Every customer goes through these 4 key stages before making a purchase:

1️⃣ Awareness – They discover you
2️⃣ Consideration – They learn more and start trusting you
3️⃣ Decision – They’re ready to buy
4️⃣ Advocacy – They love their experience and tell others

1. AWARENESS – Attracting New People to Your Brand

This is where people first discover you — through Instagram, Pinterest, a podcast, or word-of-mouth.

The key? They need to instantly understand who you help and what you do.

Common mistakes:

  • First, your website, your bio, or your social media accounts don’t clearly communicate who you serve and how you help them.
  • Second, new visitors land on your content, but don’t see an easy next step to keep engaging with you.
Action Step 1

Go to your Instagram bio or website homepage and ask yourself:
Would a brand-new person immediately understand what I do and how I can help them? If not, tweak your messaging to make it clear and compelling.

2. CONSIDERATION – Building Trust & Nurturing Your Audience

Now that they’ve found you, they need to trust you before they buy from you.

This is where your content, emails, and freebies come in. People want to see proof that you can help them—so your job is to provide value, answer their questions, and show them what’s possible.

Common mistake: You’re showing up on social media, but you don’t have a clear way to nurture your audience (like a freebie or email list).

You’re expecting people to buy after one or two Instagram posts instead of building trust over time.

Action Step 2

3. DECISION – Making It Easy for People to Buy from You

Here’s the truth: If people are confused about how to buy from you, they won’t.

Common mistake: There’s no clear Call to Action (CTA) – like “Book a Call” or “Enroll Now”.

Let’s be real… Sales pages can be really confusing and overwhelming. To make it easy for your audience to take the next step with you (aka BUY from you), make your copy clear and compelling. Then, have a button that takes them to the next step.

Make sure you have a simple, streamlined way for people to buy. Add a clear CTA to your website and social media to lead your audience to taking the next step with you. Instead of “DM me for details,” you could add a booking page for your audience to schedule a time on your calendar to chat.

4. ADVOCACY – Turning Clients into Raving Fans

Once someone buys from you, don’t just disappear! Your happiest clients are your best salespeople — they’ll tell their friends, write reviews, and bring you new leads on autopilot.

Action Step 4

✔️ Follow up with happy clients and ask for a testimonial.
✔️ Offer a referral program or bonus for sending new leads your way.
